It depends on the day! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A couple days ago during a torrential downpour I was speaking with one of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-storage-inn.com\/locations\/egg-harbor-nj\/all-reviews.php\">our storage space customers<\/a>. He was wearing his rain gear while organizing his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-storage-inn.com\/storage-unit-guide\/\">storage unit<\/a>. \u201cI feel like I&#8217;m living in Seattle!\u201d, he exclaimed. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Or London!&#8221; I shouted back.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1704 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/the-storage-inn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/bg-april-showers-flower.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"434\" height=\"326\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As I walked back to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PTj0X-DcXY4&amp;feature=emb_imp_woyt\">self storage rental office<\/a>, I was thinking about rainy places. I wondered where the rainiest places in the world exist, so I google it. Here is what I found&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Although it might feel like you\u2019re gonna float away on a river of rain sometimes, the average rainfall in the United States is about 32 inches a year and that&#8217;s nothing compared to the top 10 rainiest places on earth.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Imagine weathering these spots\u2026<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<h2><b>10. Emei Shan, Sichuan Province, China<br \/>\n<\/b><b>Average annual rainfall: 322 inches<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mount Emei is the highest of the Four Sacred Mountains of Buddhism and receives the most rainfall in China. There is a phenomenon called a \u201cclouds sea\u201d in the area and during the monsoon, it attracts a double layer of clouds that result in it receiving huge rainfalls.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>9. Kukui, Maui, Hawaii<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>Average annual rainfall: 366 inches<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1704 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/the-storage-inn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/blog9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"434\" height=\"326\" srcset=\"https:\/\/the-storage-inn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/blog9.jpg 800w, https:\/\/the-storage-inn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/blog9-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/the-storage-inn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/blog9-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/the-storage-inn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/blog9-624x468.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 434px) 100vw, 434px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mountain peak of Puu Kukui is the 9th wettest place on earth.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>8. Mt. Waialeale, Kauai, Hawaii<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>Average annual rainfall: 384 inches<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The name Mt. Waialeale means \u201coverflowing water\u201d. The rain around this extinct volcano is so wet and slippery that access is extremely difficult. Researchers believe that the peak\u2019s conical shape makes it so rainy.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 1912, Mt. Waialeale saw a record 683 inches of rain.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>7. Big Bog, Maui, Hawaii<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>Average annual rainfall: 405 inches<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite being subjected to constant rain, Big Bog is a major tourist attraction on Maui because of its lush scenery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The amazing precipitation is caused by easterly trade winds that bring moisture from the Pacific up against the steep mountainside.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>6. It\u2019s believed the location contributes to its massive rains as the mountain blocks the clouds.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>5. San Antonio de Ureca, Bioko Island, Equatorial Guinea<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>Average annual rainfall: 411 inches<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">San Antonio de Ureca is the wettest place in the African Continent. The dry season is only from November to March, with the rest of the months attracting heavy rain. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the brief dry season, tourists can watch turtles come ashore on the beaches to lay their eggs.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>4. Cropp River, New Zealand<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>Average annual rainfall: 453 inches<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The river may only be only 9km long, but it certainly punches above its weight in precipitation.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>3. Tutendo, Colombia, South America<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>Average annual rainfall: 463 inches<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1706 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/the-storage-inn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/blog3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"487\" height=\"365\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are two rainy seasons in this region so it\u2019s pretty much teeming all year round.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>2. Cherrapunji, Meghalaya State, India<br \/>\nAverage annual rainfall: 464 inches<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ironically, despite being the second wettest place on Earth, residents of this village face water shortages in winter when no rain falls at all for months at a time. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the wet season, incessant rains lash the region, sometimes for 15-21 days at a stretch. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The area is also famous for its waterfalls, hills and living root bridges.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>1. Mawsynram, Meghalaya State, India<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>Average annual rainfall: 467 inches<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1707 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/the-storage-inn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/blog1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"441\" height=\"300\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Located only 15km from Cherrapunji, there\u2019s often dispute between the villages about which should hold the title of world\u2019s wettest.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Villagers in Mawsynram use grass to soundproof their huts from deafening rain that pelts their homes during the rainy season.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meteorologists say Mawsynram\u2019s location, close to Bangladesh and the Bay of Bengal is the reason it receives so much rain.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>That concludes our list of the top 10 wettest places on Earth, so, as you can see, we really don&#8217;t have it all that bad here in the good ole U.S. of A. &#8220;Happy Spring Showers and Flowers&#8221; from the staff here at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/search\/top?q=the%20storage%20inn\">The Storage Inn<\/a>, and if your heading to India, be sure to pack your swimmies!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s April here at The Storage Inn in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, and things have been busy &amp; sunny and busy &amp; wet!
